Halloween on Church - October 31st

Watch as The Village transforms into the city’s most wicked street party on Halloween night, Tuesday October 31st. The pedestrian-only boulevard opens up at 6:00pm and, almost instantly, the wave of Halloween-dressed revelers begins. Expect thousands of people filling up six blocks along Church Street (Carlton Street to Gloucester Street).

Grab your friends, grab your costume and grab a spot in the action. The Village’s shops, cafés and bars will be bumping all night long. Check out The Village’s calendar (churchwellesleyvillage.ca/calendar) for the various special events happening in each local haunt.

CIUT 89.5 FM will be pumping out the tunes north of Wellesley, with special guest DJs.

Be tricked by the unbelievable characters. Be treated to the next-level costumes. #HalloweenOnChurch promises to be a scary good time! Plus, it's all FREE.

Music in the Park 2019

The Music in the Park concert series takes place 5 days a week in Barbara Hall Park from July 3rd to September 29th. Lunchtime concerts take place from Wednesday to Friday from 12:30pm -2pm; on the weekends concerts shift to the early evening, from 7:30pm - 9pm. We look forward to joining you in this beautiful park to enjoy some of Toronto's best instrumental and vocal talent.!

Barbara Hall Park is located just north of Church and Wellesley Streets.

Pumpkins in the Park 2018

 

The third annual Pumpkins in the Park, hosted by the Church-Wellesley Village, returns on October 27th.

Everyone is welcome, including dogs!

Pick your own free pumpkin from our urban pumpkin patch at Barbara Hall Park between 3pm-6pm.

The Toronto Sisters of Joy will be on hand to encourage and assist creativity in transforming your pumpkin into a jack-o-lantern masterpiece! All materials will be provided.

Live music will be played all afternoon and some of Toronto’s finest Drag Queens will be entertaining the crowds too.

 

Meet the great people from Storm Crow and indulge in a mocktail. (non-alcoholic drink)

We will be screening the Halloween classic film, Hocus Pocus at 6:15pm and giving out free popcorn. BYO blanket/chair.

Halloween on Church - October 31st

Toronto's biggest Halloween Block Party is Back!

Enjoy the Halloween spirit as thousands of people fill the streets with their weird, wonderful, eccentric, creative, and fabulous costumes. Many of the local businesses will have special events or menus happening within their shops or restaurants/bars.

Church St is closed between Gloucester St and Wood St starting at 6:30pm to vehicular traffic to allow an amazing yet safe experience for pedestrians.

We invite everyone to come and have a safe and Happy Halloween here on Church St in The Village!

**Please note that Church St will be closed from 6:30pm on October 31st until 2am on November 1st to vehicular traffic.

Join us for Church-Wellesley Village's 3rd Annual Music in the Park series!

From July 4th to September 30th, enjoy live performances by local musicians in Barbara Hall Park.

 

Lunch time and early evening concerts will be on the Oval Stage located in Barbara Hall Park just

north of 519 Church Street.

Join The Village every Wednesday through Sunday for ‘Music in the Park’ all summer long! From July 5th to October 1st, enjoy the sweet sounds of local talent amongst the intimate setting of Barbara Hall Park. 


The best in entertainment take over the Oval Stage from:
- 12:00pm-2:00pm Wednesday-Friday, so you can leave the office and listen over lunch
- 7:00pm-9:00pm Saturday and Sunday, so you can see the show after supper

The Church Wellesley Village is thrilled to present the 4th annual VillageFest on Saturday June 17th and Sunday June 18th, 2017 from 11am-11pm.

Celebrate community and everything queer as Canada’s largest LGBTQ+ neighbourhood hosts a fun-filled weekend-long street party! Step into the colourful streets of The Village and enjoy the vibrancy of thirteen patios, a series of local vendors and one incredible performance stage.  

Hosted by Deb Pearce and Mark Tara, the event features:

·       PWA’s High Heel Strut Competition

·       Nuit Rose - a festival of queer art and performance

·       Toronto’s Sisters of JOY

·       Fabulous drag shows

·       Popular local DJs, such as DJ Black Cat

·       Trans roundtable discussion

·       A book sale presented by Glad Day Bookshop

·       + MORE

 

Love is in the air! This year’s theme is #LoveisLoveisLove - a motif inspired by local photographer, Adam Zivo’s, ongoing project featuring “queer-positive imagery to help combat prejudice experienced by those within the LGBTQ+ community.”

 

The much-anticipated event features community organization, Rainbow Railroad, which is dedicated to saving the lives of LGBTQ+ people globally.

Halloween on Church

Every year on October 31st, Church Street celebrates Halloween like no place else - becoming known as the biggest Halloween party in North America. Thousands of people put on the most creative and outrageous costumes and join the outdoor street party. Bars and restaurants participate in this unique experience with costume contests and Halloween night events.
