The holidays are over, the gym resolutions are… progressing, and the winter chill has officially settled in. That can only mean one thing: it’s time to eat.
Winterlicious 2026 officially kicks off this Friday, January 30th, and runs until February 12th. It’s the city’s annual excuse to get us out of the house and into a booth for a three-course prix fixe meal that doesn’t break the bank.
While the city-wide list is huge, we are focusing on our local gems right here on the Church Street strip. Supporting local businesses during the quiet winter months is what keeps our Village vibrant.
Where to Book in the Village:
Kanari Restaurant (491 Church St): If you haven't tried this contemporary Korean spot yet, Winterlicious is the perfect time. Their menu is a fantastic mix of comfort and spice. We’re eyeing the Creamy Beef Belly Chili Pasta—it sounds like exactly the kind of warm, rich dish you need in February.
The Blake House (449 Jarvis St): Just a step off Church Street, Blake House is the ultimate cozy winter destination. Their menu is looking particularly strong this year. We can't wait to try the Spicy Shepherd’s Pie Samosas to start, and you can never go wrong with their Toffee Pudding for dessert.
The Cherie Bistro (538 Church St): A beloved spot for a reason, Cherie Bistro serves up heart-warming contemporary dishes that feel like a hug on a cold day. Look out for their Seafood Rassa (a coconut curry delight) or their classic Roast Beef Dinner. It’s the perfect spot for a date night where you actually want to hear each other talk.
Village Tip: Tables fill up fast, especially for the prime 7 PM slots on weekends. We recommend calling ahead or booking online to ensure you aren't left standing in the cold!
